About the Role
The Facilities Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that all Fraser Ventures properties are maintained safely, professionally, efficiently, and proactively.
We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Facilities Supervisor to lead our maintenance staff, oversee the condition of our properties, coordinate outside contractors, and personally complete smaller carpentry projects.
This position requires regular travel between company properties. The service area extends mainly in metro Detroit, but some properties are as far west as Commerce Township and as far north as Port Huron. Company-owned cars, trucks, and equipment are provided for work-related transportation
Key responsibilities include:
Communicate regularly with company leadership and property stakeholders regarding priorities, progress, and unresolved concerns
Conduct routine inspections of all properties to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, code concerns, and opportunities for improvement
Perform general carpentry work involving walls, doors, trim, cabinetry, shelving, hardware, framing, fixtures, and other building components
Obtain estimates and bids, compare project scopes, and help ensure competitive pricing
Help develop practical facilities policies, procedures, checklists, and preventive maintenance standards
About you
At least 5 years of prior professional experience encompassing both general carpentry and facilities supervision of facilities management
Working knowledge of common building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, doors, locks, and fire protection
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and contractors
Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing facility-related issues
Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadline, with a customer service-oriented mindset and a commitment to excellence in a facility management
