About the Opportunity

Grobbel is looking for a leader. A HR leader who possesses the experience, knowledge, depth and breadth in leading HR functions in a growing mid-size company with multiple locations in Southeastern Michigan.

The Human Resources Director in Grobbel is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources and will also oversee the Personal Supervision Team located in the facilities to assist the Production Supervisors with employee accountability and employee support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

A critical first step for this role is to fully immerse in the HR processes, with high emphasis on Grobbel’s talent acquisition processes.
  • Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning – Initially, the person must fully acquaint and learn the internal recruiting cycle processes.
  • Onboarding & Training – Design and oversee onboarding program that enhances new employee integration and assimilation.
  • Employee Engagement, Development & Retention - Working with the leadership team, develop, support and/or implement initiatives that continue to foster a workplace culture rooted in Grobbel’s company’s core values, morals, and commitment to employee growth.
  • Additional responsibilities include – HR compliance and policy management, payroll, compensation and benefits, HRIS, workers compensation, employee relations and conflict resolution, and performance management.
You Will Have:
  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field (preferred).
  • Broad and deep HR leadership experience, with expertise in at least one HR function. Experience in manufacturing or food industries is preferred.
  • Strong experience in talent acquisition and a passion for hiring the right people, both high volume general labor as well as professional roles.
  • Proven leadership skills including communication, collaboration, and problem-solving.
  • Record of motivating and inspiring HR teams while continuously improving the team to achieve strong results.
  • Experience in supporting employee engagement efforts.
  • Experience designing employee development programs in collaboration with management, distinct from operational productivity goals.
  • Understand how to work in a collaborative environment displaying values of respect, teamwork, and integrity.
